HANOI, March 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Vietnam should register for hosting the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2011, if Cambodia officially refuses to do it, a local sports official said Thursday.
Hun Sen, Prime minister of Cambodia, announced that due to Cambodian limited resources, the organization of the ASEAN (Association of SoutheastAsian Nations) Summit in 2011, and National Assembly elections in 2012 is more important and necessary than the games. He suggested that Cambodia could host the games in 2020 or 2030.
